Fremont, CA; November 26, 2019 — Baton Systems (“Baton”), a provider of distributed ledger-based post-trade solutions for capital markets, has been named Fintech Startup of the Year at the 2020 Risk Awards, which were presented today in London.
As one of the longest running and most prestigious awards programs in capital markets, the Risk Awards recognize the top individuals, exchanges, technology providers, clearing houses, non-bank liquidity providers, lawyers and more that are involved in the global derivatives markets and in risk management. The judging panel is comprised of Risk Magazine’s editorial team with the process taking place over a three-month period that examines entrants’ accomplishments over the last 12 months.
“The Risk Awards are one of the most coveted and widely-respected accolades in our industry. This is a great honor for Baton and a tribute to the hard work of our entire team,” said Baton founder and CEO Arjun Jayaram. “Over the last three years we have not only built and implemented a live solution that addresses the long-term inefficiencies in the movement of assets between financial institutions, but have done so without the need to re-engineer existing technology. This would not have been possible without the support of the industry and we’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their role in this success.”
The Risk Awards mark the fourth accolade Baton has earned in 2019 after being named Payment and Settlement Technology Provider of the Year at the Central Banking Fintech & Regtech Global Awards in September. The Company was also named Best Distributed Ledger Technology Project at the Sell-Side Technology Awards and Post-trade Services Provider of the Year at the FX Week Awards.
Baton Systems is reforming how payments are made in the world’s largest financial markets. By delivering on-demand synchronization and orchestration of asset movements through its distributed ledger-based platform, it is liberating balance sheets and eliminating the need for capital-intensive pre-funding of FX and margin requirements. Founded in 2016 by technology, payments and capital markets veterans, and backed by venture capital, Baton Systems works with numerous market participants – including major global banks, custodian banks and exchanges – to meet today’s demands for capital efficiency, regulatory compliance and operational superiority.
